-seem really spacious: not sure if the cars are actually wider or if it's just an optical illusion: a) they've removed the vertical bars running down the middle of the aisle. Instead there are overhead bars you can hang onto that run all along the length of the car ceiling; b) the cars are no longer separated. Instead they are connected by those accordion covers, so you can see/and walk freely all the way from the front to the back of the train without any barriers; c) the shields beside the doors are all glass and no longer extend down to the floor; d) the lighting seems to be much brighter
-crazy technology: there's electronic boards telling you which station is next (in addition to the pre-existing audio station call-out). The electronic boards also tell you which way the doors are going to open; the subway map is now electronic and it looks like the subway stations are indicated with green or red dots - not quite sure what the colours mean?? Ooh the voice station lady just told us that the next station is an "interchange" station. That's a nice touch; little overhead cameras throughout the train. Hmm, interesting.
I quite enjoyed my brief time with my old friend, the ttc subway.
